About

I obtained an Associate of Science degree in Information Technology in May 2023 whilst working in a desktop support position at Florida State College at Jacksonville (with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Information Systems scheduled to be completed in December 2024), and I am eager to put my skills and knowledge to use to support the technological needs to support an organization.

In my IT Support Assistant role at FSCJ, I act as tier 1 desktop support for FSCJ’s Kent campus. I support end-users running both Windows (running Dell AIOs and laptops/docks/monitors) and MacOS (MacBook and Mac Mini). Imaging and deploying computers are a common responsibility (via PXE boot) between off/onboarding of new faculty/staff and general technology refresh cycles. Basic troubleshooting in network connectivity and patching switches within various IDF rooms, Crestron A/V systems, and security camera configuration is something that also falls under the desktop support role. Ticketing system wise, I am familiar with Jira, but am quick to adapt/learn others.

In my spare time, I’ve also been hands-on with Linux boxes, with most of my time having been spent in Ubuntu and RHEL/CentOS/Fedora servers (done within a virtual environment). I’ve configured public-facing LAMP and LEMP servers (currently running a LEMP server with Ubuntu and MySQL for my personal website [recently experimenting with implementing 2FA tokens], and using HTML for my landing page), as well as obtaining LPI’s Linux Essential certification. I’ve also messed around in cloud computing (Azure and OCI) and received Microsoft’s AZ-900 – Azure Fundamentals certification earlier this year, and played around with Ansible (for Linux automation) and IAM within Oracle Cloud.
